Well, my friend, I have the place for you: the 158th annual Ohio State Fair. Once again, the Ohio Expo Center has metamorphosed into an agronomical universe of midway rides, carnival games, marching bands, parades, fireworks, butter cows, butterflies, petting zoos, pig races, sheep shows, sand sculptures, concerts, floral design contests, homebrewing competitions, art exhibits, Civil War encampments, youth choirs, handcrafted marketplaces, jugglers, lumberjacks, cooking demonstrations, one spunky strong woman, and so much more. If you’re feeling particularly rambunctious, I recommended splurging on three tickets to ride the Crazy Mouse. This purely Ohio tradition with gargantuan history runs through August 7.
